Spotlight on Nature – Color Fusers Blog Hop – Aug 2024…

Hello and welcome to this month’s Color Fusers blog hop where we have got a really fresh colour scheme for you – some of my favourite colours in this one, and they pair so well together. I finally managed to get my hands on the Spotlight on Nature stamp set last week, so I had to use it for this project.

The Color Fusers are a global group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who come to your computers once a month with a colour challenge – and some are more challenging than others. This one was a lovely one for me though, and please do check out the links at the end of the hop to have a see what everyone else has created for you.

I’ve used a standard white card base, and added a white layer on top, but before I stuck it on I stamped the leaves from the Spotlight on Nature stamp set, in Fresh Freesia, and I also blended some ink to the outside edges, I love how it turned out.

To create the focal point I used lots of different layers. The first is Fresh Freesia measuring 11.5cm x 7.5cm with a mat of white measuring 11cm x 7cm. On this white piece I splattered some Smoky Slate ink with my Stampin’ Blends. I then cut two circles from the Spotlight on Nature Dies, one in Fresh Freesia and one in white. I stuck these together and added them with dimensionals.

I stamped the flower stamp in Smoky Slate a couple of times, and also a few extra flowers too. I coloured these in using Bubble Bath, Lemon Lolly and Smoky Slate blends before cutting them out with my paper snips. I used some wet glue to add these to the circles.

All that was left for me to do was to add a sentiment, stamped in Smoky Slate, some Lemon Lolly gems and a bit of metallic ribbon too. I love the look of these gorgeous flowers and can see why this stamp set has been so popular!!

I hope you have fun looking through all of our projects and maybe even have a go at this colour challenge for yourself, I would love to see your creations, so why not head over to my Facebook Group – The Songbird’s Nest – and share it there.

Until next time, Happy Stamping xx
