Good Colour Combo for Masculine Cards – Stamptastic Friends’ Blog Hop April ’23…

The theme for this month’s blog hop is ‘Cards for Men’ so I thought I would share a good colour combo for masculine cards, as I think colour is one of the most important things when making those difficult cards for the special guys in our life.

The Stamptastic Friends are a wonderful group of Demonstrators who come together every month to bring you the very best of Stampin’ Up! Please do have a hop around the rest of the team’s posts using the links at the bottom of the page.

For my card today, I decided to work with the Bottled Happiness stamp set. At first glance you might not see this as a masculine themed stamp set, but take away the flowers and we’ve got lots of options with the bottles themselves. I have chosen a fairly minimalist design, allowing the focus to be on the images and on the colour combo.

The main colour in this colour combo for masculine cards is the new Pecan Pie – a gorgeous chocolatey brown colour, which has already had a fair amount of use in my craft room! I can highly recommend this colour to anyone wanting to make any nature themed cards, too.

I have paired it here with Mossy Meadow and Night of Navy, though both have been stamped off to give a lighter and more rustic feel to the bottles, making them seem almost translucent.

The Pecan Pie paper is from the Glorious Gingham paper stack, and the glorious ribbon is the also Pecan Pie. I still quite like using ribbon in my cards for men, but will nearly always opt for a knot rather than a bow – it just seems more fitting.

To add to the rustic feel of the bottle, I sponged some Pecan Pie ink around the edge of the centre white panel, and also randomly stamped the sentiment, stamped off, before layering everything together.

A simple decoration inside the card finished everything off nicely I think. I did try to add some of the Neutral Sequins, but they didn’t look right so took them back off again!

I hope that you have been inspired to try and find a good masculine colour combo for yourself, but if not, please do have a hop around the rest of the links below to see what other crafty inspiration you can get.

Until next time, Happy Stamping xx
