Masculine Themed Nature Card – Creativity Abounds Blog Hop May ’23…

This month’s hop is all about the new 2023 – 2025 In Colors, and I wanted to share how I used two of them to make this masculine themed nature card, perfect for a special guy’s birthday, or even for Father’s Day (18th June in the UK). I just LOVE the new colour Copper Clay and couldn’t wait to colour the tree trunk of this card in, making it look just like an American Redwood. One of my earliest memories of childhood is of a gigantic American Redwood tree that was on the way from our house to my school, […]

The theme of this months Tech 4 Stampers Blog Hop is ‘Keep It Simple’, and what better title for this blog post then than easy handmade card. The Tech 4 Stampers are a wonderful group of Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators all learning and developing in the world of technology. How to make a simple and stylish card…

Sometimes, you need a simple and stylish card, and one that doesn’t take forever to make, especially when you just want to reach out to a friend to tell them you are thinking about them. The Forever Fern stamp set is a perfect set for this type of make, because the images are so beautiful that you really don’t need all the layers and embellishments. I wanted to play along with the Global Design Project GDP#333 this month, but when I saw the colours I must admit my heart sank a little! I am not really into greens, but when […]

What is Paper Piecing in Cardmaking?

I am running an in person event on Friday, and when I told my ladies what we would be doing, they had one question for me… “what is paper piecing in cardmaking”. You see, it’s a term commonly used in the quilting community, but it is a technique that isn’t that well known when it comes to paper crafting, so I thought I would take the opportunity to show you all about it, too! Paper piecing is when you use patterned paper to make up some of a stamped image, like in the picture below, the ladies dress… can you […]

Kerchief Card Kit…

I thought I would pop on and share this cute little card kit with you. It is one of the items that you can get for free at the moment when you spend over £45, and I had a lovely time making these cards. Aren’t they striking! Everything that you need comes in the kit, even little glue dots, though I did add a bit of Tombow Multipurpose liquid glue as it is my adhesive of choice! You can make two different types of cards, and 4 of each of these, so 8 in total… that’s not bad for a […]
